From 17 – 24 August, athletes competed in 17 different sports – and all events and competitions were completely free to attend!

Thank You Dresden – A Week We Will Never Forget
The 25th World Transplant Games came to a festive close in Dresden – and many athletes and guests are already calling them the “best Games ever.” After seven days full of sports, emotions, and moving stories, the city of Dresden bid farewell to 2,500 participants, families, and supporters from 51 nations.

We’re excited to share that the WTG2025 website has just been updated with fresh details for many of this year’s highlight events – from the colorful Parade of Nations on 17 August, to the action-packed Darts Night with Max Hopp and Gabriel Clemens, and the spectacular Gala Dinner to close the Games.

Germany reaches milestone: 100,000th kidney transplant performed
In July 2025, Germany marked a historic milestone with the 100,000th kidney transplant since the country’s first such procedure in 1963. This achievement, announced by the German Organ Transplantation Foundation (DSO), symbolizes not only six decades of medical progress but also 100,000 new chances at life for patients with severe kidney disease.

Gala dinner ticket purchase unfortunately delays by about 2 days.
Once ready – each LITE package participant will receive an individualized link via mass emailing.
Please note – tickets costs 99 EUR per ticket. They are non-refundable and cannot be canceled once booked.
Depending on interest of LITE package participants – left over tickets might be open for purchase to public a few days before Gala dinner.
